Reconstruct the world in 3D on the fly!

Discovery market

Today, many applications require a 3D model of large-scale environments, such as industrial sites, public infrastructure (roads, bridges, tunnels etc.), public buildings and so on. These 3D models can be used for a variety of analyses, including damage detection, the organisation of public events and as an accompanying tool for construction plans.  Nowadays, 3D reconstruction is a very time-consuming and costly business that requires a high degree of human intervention. Moreover, it is very hard to capture every angle of the environment in detail. The compact Liborg robot by Imec-IPI-Ghent University allows for virtually any space to be reconstructed in the blink of an eye. The robot can autonomously capture the entire space without any manual intervention, entirely on the fly.
